Procyon´s tracking route

This mother-calf pair explored the southern coast and the center of Golfo Nuevo. A few days before beginning their migration to the open ocean they spent several days on the southern shore of Peninsula Valdés, between Punta Cormoranes and Morro Nuevo. After leaving the gulf they crossed the continental shelf and arrived at the continental slope where they remained for various days, probably feeding. The short duration device with which Procyon was tagged stopped transmitting on November 2, when these whales were in the deep oceanic basin.
