Fenix´s tracking route
Fenix is a juvenile who traveled widely in the northern and central sections of Golfo Nuevo during the 25 days he remained in the gulf before starting his migration. He also spent some time at the entrance of the gulf, including a one-day excursion northwards along the exterior coast of Peninsula Valdés, then re-entering the gulf for a few more days where he was observed by our follow-up team in the area of Puerto Pirámides. After leaving the waters of Peninsula on October 27, Fenix traveled more than 600 kilometers south over the continental shelf, then remained in the same area as Titan, at the latitude of the southern tip of Golfo San Jorge. Connection with Fenix was lost on November 4, after being tracked for 34 days.
