Almuerza’s 16 day tracking route (891 km)
White circle indicates last position received.
September 25 – October 11, 2019
At the end of September a satellite transmitter was attached to an adult female with a calf. It transmitted data until October 11, 2019. During this short period Almuerza and her calf remained for a time in the northern sector of Golfo Nuevo. They then traveled along the coast towards the south, to later return once more to the area of Puerto Pirámides, where her transmitter stopped transmitting data.
The color of the dots follow a time sequence where the green dots represent the first locations in this period and the red dots the most recent locations, progressing through yellow and orange. The last position, indicated by a red dot with a white border, shows the geographic coordinates and time of reception of the transmission.
