White circle indicates last position received.
September 26 – October 10, 2019
Campeona, an adult female with a calf, remained in Golfo Nuevo during the 14 days her satellite transmitter emitted signals after it was attached on September 26. Her last registered position was close to Punta Ameghino on October 10. During this time Campeona swam back and forth along the northern coast of the gulf, between Puerto Pirámides and El Doradillo, as did the other mothers with calves.
The color of the dots follow a time sequence where the green dots represent the first locations in this period and the red dots the most recent locations, progressing through yellow and orange. The last position, indicated by a red dot with a white border, shows the geographic coordinates and time of reception of the transmission.
