Aura, an adult female with calf, was immediately recognized by our team due to a unique white patch on her back. Because of this special mark this whale had been given the name “Rabbit.” Aura and her calf remained in Golfo Nuevo 8 days before beginning her migratory travels to the continental slope. Eighteen days after deployment Aura´s device ceased transmissions, when she had traveled 1,370 km (851 miles) and was already in the deep ocean basin.
