Kalium´s tracking route

  • The satellite transmitter of this mother with calf ceased transmissions on October 31st, when she was already in the South Atlantic Ocean basin. Her tag was active for 54 days, during which time she traveled more than 1,470 kilometers (913 miles).

  • This adult female was tagged while accompanied by her grey-morph phenotype calf near Punta Piaggio. A few days later they moved to the coast of El Doradillo, where they remained for a long time. On October 9 Kalium began her migratory travels, heading directly to the continental slope.
