Forty days after being tagged, this solitary individual began traveling towards the feeding zones, after having predominantly explored the northern sector of Golfo Nuevo. During his migratory travels, Aurum has stopped briefly twice; once at the latitude of the north of Golfo San Jorge, about 200 kilometers (124 miles) from the coast, and the second at the southern latitude of the same gulf, also far from the shore. During both stops his movements were short and erratic, suggesting he was feeding.

The day this solitary individual of unknown sex was tagged, it was with Platinum, another whale being tracked this season. Aurum has since mostly explored the northern sector of Golfo Nuevo, near Puerto Pirámides, with only one visit to the area of El Doradillo after a trip to the southern edge of the mouth of the gulf.
